IMPRESSÃO is a series of letterpress prints in Clarendon Bold. My intention was to reference the historic use of letterpress in Portugal, whilst exploring how the people of Castelo Branco made an ‘imprint’ on me during my residency there; teaching me new jokes/phrases and finding connections.
These prints were displayed during our exhibition at Fábrica de Criatividade, where I was a Designer in Residence during August 2025.

A joke that a taxi driver told me. in Portuguese, seasons are called stations. so Castelo has three stations; summer, winter… and the train station!
Sort of like saying ‘keep up the good work!’ said to me by the lovely owner of a shop named O Sótão Artesãnato.
